New addition

Sorry for the lateness of this post, I forgot to put an update on here. Lewis John was born April 28th, weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 21 1/4 inches long.

Any day now...

We're counting the days until our little boy comes into this world... until then, here is a recent 3D ultrasound image, as well as one of our (nearly) 4-year old wascal of a daughter from last fall.

As many of you already know, we recently found out that we are expecting a second little "Teich" next spring. Elisabeth just had her first checkup and the baby checked out great. Praise the Lord!

Forever and a Day Later!

Hello friends! Well, considering that the last time I wrote on here was before Christmas, I'd say that it's time to update you all on where we are and what we are doing! I'll admit, I'm horrible when it comes to updating this site and all that. It seems that life just gets so busy, and between work, church, laundry and dishes, things like this just get pushed out of the way!

Well.... so, what are we up to? I guess that the biggest news is that I (Elisabeth) started a new job about 3 weeks ago. It's funny, I have family writing me and asking me how work and things are going, and when I tell them that I have been at a new job for almost a month, they are suprised. Hahaha! I guess that will be a lesson for me to fill people (especially family) in on what is going on. So, anyway..... I have recently started working for a surgeon in Plymouth, MN. I had sent in my resume this past summer and never heard back from them so, I took the job at the New Horizon Corporate offices. Well, much to my surprise, 2 months into that job, I got a call back from them asking if I would be interested in finding out more about them and the job that they were offering. Let's just say that it was an incredibly tough decision. I had grown close to my friends at the NH offices and was loving my job there. In the end, I did decide to take the job as a "Patient Care Coordinator" and am really glad so far that it all worked out. I have been having a lot of fun learning all this new stuff and am grateful for the challenge. I am just finishing up my 3rd week there and am feeling pretty confident about the job and what I can bring to the company. So, I guess now, we'll just keep going on learning and see what comes out at the end. :)

Other than that news, not too much new with our family. Amara is well on her way to being a very active and enthusiastic 3 year old! We're tackling potty training right now to which she is very receptive. She's doing great in Pullups and I'm thinking that we're going to try big girl underwear within the next month! She had an absolute blast at Christmas with her grandparents and loved all the presents. She really got into the whole Santa thing this year. Almost every night before she would go to sleep she would ask Darius or I "Are you going to go and talk to Santa? Tell him that I'm a good girl!" It was so cute and I guess that she was pretty good because Santa sure brought her alot of presents! :)

Well, I hope that everyone is surviving this cold winter!!! I know that I can't wait for it to warm up and be sunny!

Angry Santas - Peaceful Mangers

So........it's that time of year again. Time to give presents and take home a whole lot more then you came to Grandma and Grandpa's house with. :) A time to be with friends and family and talk about the past year - all the ups and downs - the good times and the bad times; A time to be with the people that you love. So..why is it that every year people get so crabby during this time? I tried to go out shopping for Christmas presents and not only did I see kids screaming and moms shouting, I actually saw Santa Claus get mad at a child who did not want to sit on his lap!! People were pushing their way around the mall and rushing around to find the last of the items that were on sale. I was thinking about all the pictures of the Nativity that you see around you. There are no sale signs, no cars honking, no angry Santas....just a small baby peacefully sleeping in a manger. Let's concentrate on that picture this year and have a blessed Christmas.

New Hope for Christmas

What an amazing statement! On December 9-10th, I, along with around 100 other people will be singing with Larnelle Harris at our church. Every year our church does a Christmas program, usually a drama or musical, but, this year we decided to do something different. Larnelle, our choirs, and our orchastra is putting together a production entitled "New Hope for Christmas". I feel honored to be singing along side of a man that I grew up listening to and have admired for years.

If you would like more information about ordering tickets, visit our church website www.cefc.com . Please be in prayer for our weekend together with him and also the upcoming practices and rehearsals. Pray not that we would just learn our music and choreography, but that we would be effective witnesses to our audience and that Christ would be shown through us and the music.

It has been a busy week for us here. Last week Darius was gone on a day-business trip on Thursday and then it seemed like the weekend just flew by!

Darius has been busy raking leaves and trying to get ready for winter around our house. It will be interesting to see how our house holds up in the cold and ice. Since we just bought it in May, we haven't had a winter in it yet!

I've been pretty busy at work. I'm finally feeling like I understand fully all the aspects of my job. Little things have been coming up that I'm not sure about but, for the most part, I feel that I really understand what is going on. Hopefully, I'll still feel that way when the holiday rush starts up!

Amara has been a busy little terror. She's still loving school and all her friends. She's talking so clearly and in complete paragraphs, so, that has been fun to watch. She loves to sing and can sing many songs completely. I can't believe that she's getting so big!

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile so, I thought I'd take some time and give you an update on everything.

Last monday, I started my new job and it's been going fabulous. It's been a really easy transition and everyone has been so helpful and wonderful to work with. Amara has done really well with the switch too. I think that she actually has a better day since I'm not there for her to be disobedient to me. She's also been taking really good naps at school, which make for a much better evening for all of us!

Amara had her Halloween party at school today and was so excited to wear her fairy costume and bring treats in for her class. I'll post a picture later.

Other than that, there's not much new with us. We keep busy - too busy at times - but we love hearing from everyone that we don't get to talk to! Have a wonderful week!

The Big Bed!

This weekend we had another big change in the life of Amara. We switched her to a big bed! She was really ready to be done with her crib and was getting too big for it. Her first night (last night) in the bed wasn't too bad. She got up a few times and came out of her room but, after a few "talks" with daddy she got it in her head that getting up was not in her best interest. :) Hopefully, in the nights to come, she'll get more comfortable and it won't be a problem. What a big girl!

Done with the old - In with the new!

Hi everyone! Well, yesterday was my last day at my job. It was a combined feeling of relief and also kind of sad. I had to say goodbye to 150 of the cutest and best kids in the world. The most heart breaking moment of the day was when my favorite kid in the whole wide world (besides my own of course!) started crying and told me she loved me. I love you too, Taylor! It's wonderful to know that I will still be able to see them all everyday when I drop Amara off at school. I'm so excited though to venture out on this new chapter of my life. For those who don't know, I'll be working full time at the New Horizon Corporate Offices in Plymouth, MN. Please pray that the transition will go well between jobs and that Amara will adjust to me not being there. That's about it for now.....the picture is of Hayden (one of Amara's trouble maker friends) and also Ms. Jessica (Amara's teacher)
